"Eddie" Jewell Edward Denton

Derby - Denton, "Eddie" Jewell Edward, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. He was born Feb. 24, 1935, to Virgie and John Denton in Wheeler, Ark. He was a loving, hardworking man with a gentle spirit. Eddie was a man of few words, raised five children, and helped raise many grandchildren. Eddie loved the Lord, and was a Christian believer. He was greatly loved, and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by wife, Vallalee Denton; son, Richard Denton; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Phillips; siblings, John, Mac, Wanda, Bernice. Eddie is survived by sons, Daniel (Charlene) Denton, Edward (Debbie) Denton, John (Kathy) Denton; grandchildren, Chris (Teresa) Denton, Cody (Tasha) Denton, Kyle Denton, Joseph (Melissa) Denton, Kay (Nick) Hughes, Adam Denton, Matthew Phillips, Julia (Daniel) York, Jeffrey Phillips, Erica (Brian) Brunson, Johnathan Denton; great-grandchildren, C.J., Andrew, Emily, Noah, Michael, Grace, Caden, Campbell, Keylan, Hailey, Elsie, Grace, Sophia, Felix, Faith, Deondre, Kamron, Shyann, Brianna, Kaylee, and Brian; great-great-grandchildren, Gunner and Parker. Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Cedar Point Baptist Church, 9221 E. 31st St., Wichita, Kan., 67210. Memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Housing, 2145 N.
