Bonnie "Colleen" Carter

Bonnie "Colleen" Carter, 86, long time Bella Vista resident passed away Nov. 29, 2017. She was born November 19, 1931 to Sidney and Mary Lida of Mission, Kan. She was a manager at Continental Grain Co. for 25 years before retiring to Bella Vista, Ark. in 1991. Colleen was involved throughout the community. She often took on leaderships roles, including three years as chairperson of the Bella Vista Pride Committee, and founded the Bella Vista Golf Remembrance Program. Colleen was also active in the Bella Vista Community Church, serving as a Deacon and Shepherd Leader. During her life, Colleen was an elite bowler, avid golfer, skilled craftswoman, and loved playing cards. She is preceded in death by her son, Terry Carter; and survived by a son, Chris Carter and wife Jerri of Auburn, Pa.; a daughter, Cay Miller and husband Mark of Hasty, Ark.; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and two brothers, Sidney Lida and wife Fran of Lakeland, Fla. and Robert Lida of Wichita, Kan. Services will be held 10 a.m. December 16, 2017 at Bella Vista Community Church, with a reception to follow. Interment of Colleen's ashes will be a private family ceremony at the Bella Vista Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home.
