Edith Lucille Johnston, 92, passed away, Tuesday, August 29, 2017. She was born on June 12, 1925 in Fallsville (Newton County) Arkansas. To Floyd and Mary (Boling) Dixon. She worked as a waitress at the Youree Café in downtown Siloam for several years before going to work at Franklin Electric, where she retired after over 25 years. She loved the Franklin family. Edith loved to bowl and loved to play rummy with the girls. Edith loved her church, Trinity Pentecostal. Edith was preceded in death by: her first husband, Jay Harris, and her late husband of 20 years, J.W. Johnston; her daughter, Sharon Harris Rowland; her only granddaughter, Tiffany, a sister, Edna Fleetwood and a brother, Odell Dixon. She is survived by two grandsons, Rodney Rowland (Jennifer) and Kyle Rowland of Mena, Arkansas; son-in-law, Danny Rowland of Mena, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Lily, Luke, Tra and Vivi of Mena, Ark.; one sister, Donetta (Loyd) Samuels of Siloam Springs, one niece, Susan (Dean) Miller and nephews, Tim Dixon, David Dixon, Mike and Marty Samuels, Brent and Mark Fleetwood, and a very special daughter, Tammy Johnston of New York. Services will be Friday, September 1 at 2 p.m., at Trinity Pentecostal Church, 2450 S. Lincoln in Siloam Springs, with Pastor Mike Whorton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hiwassee, Arkansas at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to Joy Gay, Sherry and the staff of Golden Girls where Edith was loved and so well cared for the past two and half years.
