Mary Kampe Browne

Mary Kampe Browne, 99, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home. She was born February 19, 1918 in New York City to Charles and Dora Penfound Kampe. Mary had a zest for life. She retired as the assistant director of nursing at San Francisco General Hospital. She loved caring for her patients and had an amazing bed-side manner. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Doherty and Dorathy Sather, and a brother, Ed Kampe. Survivors include two grandsons, Seth Smart of Tigard, Oregon, Shane Smart of Australia; three nieces, Patty Unseld and Ginger Amaral both of Fayetteville, Dorathy Dejno of Pine Island, Minnesota; one nephew, Eddie Sather of Livermore, Colorado; a brother-in-law, Joseph Doherty of Fayetteville; and several great nieces and nephews including Savannah, Chelsea, Kirra, Drake, Eric, Dione, Devon, Hayden, Kaesen and Finn. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 25, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
