Deborah Stephens

Deborah Stephens of Fayetteville, passed away August 7, 2017. She was born February 1, 1956, the daughter of Norman and Shirley (Mhoon) Powers. Debbie graduated from Fayetteville High School, and her adventurous spirit and love of all things new and different led her to a career as a travel agent. Though her heart remained in Northwest Arkansas, her friends and family often got to share in her voyages around the world. After a series of personal difficulties, Debbie was called to help others through her work with Lifesource International. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Stephens, her father, Norman Powers, and her grandparents, Elmer and Ola Powers, and Gordon and Ilah Mhoon. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Shirley and Jim Blackston, of Fayetteville, her son, Ryan Lerz, of Fayetteville, her daughter and son-in-law, Lauran Elam and Mounir El Fatmi, of Thousand Oaks, California, her three grandchildren, Miles Lerz, Juliana Williams, and Hanae El Fatmi, her brothers and sisters, Becky Ivey, Marty Powers, Bobby Blackston, Shawni Dombroski, and Shad Blackston, and her many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 11, at 2 p.m., at Round Mountain Community Church. Arrangements are by Westfield Chapel.
