Rocky Lynn Garriott, 61, of Fayetteville, Ark. passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at WRMC due to a sudden illness related to cancer. Rocky was born on September 4, 1955 in Fayetteville, Ark. to Juana Florence Jordan Garriott and Carlos Luther Garriott. Preceded in death by his father, Carlos Garriott; mother, Florence Garriott; and brother, Larry Garriott. Survived by a son, Matthew Ryan Garriott and wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Sadie Lynn of Benton, Ark.; daughter, Katharine Leigh Garriott of Gravette, Ark.; sister, Carma June McAleer and husband, Michael of Eureka Springs, Ark.; life partner, Cindy Duncan of the home; Cindy's daughter, Sarah E. Hawn and husband, Bobby of Rogers; grandson, Karter Hawn of Rogers; his beloved dogs, Wolf Roxy Lynn and Aussie Cleo; and a host of many friends and family. Rocky's first job was at the NW Arkansas Times, then 8 years of off-shore oil drilling, 14 years with Tune Concrete and 17 years at Tyson Foods working with Risk Management. Rocky played high school football and graduated from Fayetteville High School. His favorite hobbies included hot rod cars, cutting, raking & bailing hay. He also enjoyed coaching Katie's softball team, attending football practice and going to all of Matt's high school and college football games along with tailgating with the boys and hanging out at the shop. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Round Mountain Cemetery with Danny Williams officiating under the direction of Beard's Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Round Mountain Fire Department.
