Marvin Gene Houston, 78 of Springdale passed away suddenly on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born August 20, 1938 in Montebello, Calif., to Clifford and Edith Irene Johnston Houston. Marvin was a carpet salesman. He enjoyed playing golf and going fishing. He built reproduction antique furniture. Marvin served in the United States Army Reserve. He loved his special little four legged friend, Boogie Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister in law, Boo Houston. Survivors include his wife, Frances Houston of the home; one son, Randy Houston of Springdale; two daughters, Danelle Murphy of Lowell and Loretta Spencer of Bella Vista; two brothers, Gordon Houston and wife Linda of Springdale and Carlin Houston of Pine Bluff, Ark.; four grandchildren, Tyler Murphy, Sheridan Spencer, Aaron and Alec Spencer; his brother in law, Dale Cress and wife Gretchen of West Fork and several nieces, nephews and other family members. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Silent Grove Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be Monday, September 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
