Betty Jean Lindsay

Betty Jean Lindsay, age 79, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was born August 2, 1936 to Dale and Velma Lewis. She was happily married to Jim Lindsay for 60 years on September 8th. Betty was a beautiful, Christian woman and her greatest pleasure was having her grandkids and great-grandkids around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and loved by many. She was a charter member of West Ridge Free Will Baptist Church and loved living her life for the Lord. She worked at NAVCO for 18 years, and was a loving daycare provider and Nana to generations of kids. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Velma Lewis and a beloved uncle, Dean Harris, and brother-in-law, Leonard Davis. She is survived by husband, Jim Lindsay; two sisters, Bobbie Davis and Donna Shumate (Allen) all of Elkins; two daughters, Brenda Magadan (Joe) and Durenda Pierre (Will) and five grandkids, Tonia Henigan (Brian), Lucas Myer (Toni), Lexy Houghland (Chuck), Alisha Watson (Bobby), Shane Turner (Addy) and eleven great-grandkids; nieces Zondra Goodnight, Tracy Rinker, Jennifer Walker and a nephew Brian Shumate and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday at West Ridge Free Will Baptist Church followed by burial at Whitehouse Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
