Thomas Russell "Rusty" Eastep, Jr., of Rogers, died on March 25, 2016. He was born on Feb. 24, 1975 to Gail and Russell Eastep and was immediately named the favorite child and remained so his entire life. Rusty was a legendary character. He was an Army National Guard veteran who served in Kosovo. He was a salesman and proud of his 10-page resume that, like this obituary, may or may not have been entirely accurate. He loved adventure and was an outdoorsman through and through. He, along with his friend Beau, backpacked 27 miles of the Grand Canyon. He was a world renowned chef and maintained the title of most eligible bachelor of Northwest Arkansas throughout his life. He was charismatic and charming. Rusty was a beloved brother and never lacked in kindness or generosity. He will be remembered by friends, family and many, many, many, many women as a wonderful and incredibly good looking man. Rusty is survived by his mother; his sister, Krystal Eastep; much, much older sister, Deedra Kerby; brother, Kevin Eastep; and too many nieces and nephews to list (thanks mostly to Krystal). He was preceded in death by his father. He had no children that we know of. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, where all will be invited to share a story to honor the most interesting man in Northwest Arkansas. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to The H.O.U.S.E. Inc., to help fight substance abuse and addiction, 24706 State Hwy 171, Webb City, MO 64870.
