Veda Hardy, age 54 passed peacefully on March 19, 2016. She completed her brave journey at home, free of pain, surrounded by the love of her family and with her dog Sugar at her feet. Veda was born in Chicago, spent time growing up in Tennessee, and then moved to the Rose Bud area. While in high school, she excelled and was the Captain of the Drill team, winning multiple awards and scholarships. She was a talented student, and was promoted early allowing her to graduate a year ahead of schedule. She later completed a lifelong goal to be a college graduate at Arkansas State University. Veda had a beautiful smile that could light up the room. She had a kind heart, and loved to help others in anyway she could. She had a tender place for animals and frequently brought home new members of the family. Veda was both beautiful on the inside and the outside. She favored colorful scarfs was affectionately known by her friends at work as the "Pontiac Coil Diva." Veda loved to travel, she visited many places including Germany, Italy, and the Bahamas but above all her favorite places to visit were the Florida beaches. She loved planning and taking her family there every year. Some of her happiest times were sitting on a beach with a cold drink, surrounded by her grandchildren playing in the sand. She also enjoyed camping and fishing; and had an ongoing rivalry with her husband on who caught the first or biggest fish. Veda's number one priority, next to God, was her family. Her great love for them, especially for her seven grandchildren was well known by all. She has been reunited once again with her loving father Alex Prichodko, who passed in 2015 and we know they are together watching over the rest of us. She lives on through her loving husband of 25 years Larry Hardy; daughter, Nicole (husband John Torres, children, Jonathan "Garrett" and Archer); son, Michael (wife Amber, children, Carter, Caden, and Samuel); son, Jason (wife Bethany, children, Jordyn, and Jaxon); mother, Doris McCutcheon; siblings Malissa, Julie, Pauline, and Nina; as well as many extended family members and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday March 25, at Roller Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Ark. from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held in the chapel at 2pm on Saturday with interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to The National Brain Tumor Society or The American Cancer Society. For online guest book, www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
