William "Bill" Moreland

William "Bill" Moreland of Rogers left this world March 15 in Cassville, Mo. He was born Jan. 15, 1926 in El Paso County, Colo. to the late Kenneth W. and Frances Jesse Moreland. For nearly 53 years he was the loving husband of the late Helen Gilmore, who he married in Woodland Park, Colo. and preceded him in 2001. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald "Bud", Wilfred and Kenneth "Mouse" Moreland. For many years he worked in sawmills and for the city of Colorado Springs as a certified water treatment operator before relocating to Arkansas where he worked for Kraft Foods until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and camping. In his later years he especially enjoyed writing letters to the editor. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Moore (Ferlon) of Purdy, Mo. and Billie Marie Moreland of Springfield, Mo.; his son, Jeff "Junior" Moreland (Debbie) of Rogers; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
