John D Baker Jr. (J.D.), born May 12 , 1933 in Wynne, Ark. to John D. Baker Sr. and Carrie Mae Elliott of Carmi, Ill. He was married to his wife Patricia Baker on April 17, 1955 and they were married for 61 years. J.D. loved farming on his land, he had a garden and raised cattle when he was a younger man. He also loved to tinker with cars and could fix anything, he loved the old country music greats and could play any instrument put in front of him. He was a good and kind man and taught his daughters well. It is said that they don't make men like him anymore. He taught us how to be independent and gave us life skills to help us make it in life. He was a "Man's Man" and had true grit. He was raised during the depression and knew how to survive on very little. He and his wife purchased 10 acres of land, built a home on it for us and raised four children with very little income. His hobby was fixing old clocks, he loved to take them apart and get them running smoothly, his clock stopped at 6:45 on March 18, 2016 when his spirit left this world and passed to heaven to meet all his loved ones for that reunion we must all attend, his beloved dogs were waiting for him at the rainbow bridge. He will be missed in this world. Dad we honor you and celebrate your life, you are now free from pain and you fought a brave fight. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers: Edna Lane, Braden Baker, Erma Immel, Ethel McDoulett, Joe Baker, Stanley Baker and Delbert Baker. One brother still living is Phillip Baker from Fullerton, Calif. J.D. had four children; Diana Lucero, (husband Ernie Lucero), Linda Ferguson, Hannah Fleming, Johnny Baker, nine grandchildren; Melissa Birchfield, Kayla Malone, Kyle Ferguson, Kenzie Ferguson, Eric Fleming, Holly Fleming, Julie Fleming, J.D. and Kelsi Baker, and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery with Pastor Charlie Foster officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72762.
