Vernon Oren Carter

Vernon Oren Carter, 81, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away March 5, 2016 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born Jan. 4, 1935 in Strickler, the son of Frank E. Carter and Vera Pierson Carter. He was a member of the Centerpoint Church of God in Prairie Grove. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Carter; his two sons, Jeff and Marty Carter; and one brother, A.G. Carter. Survivors include two grandsons, Brian Carter and wife, Samantha and Colin Carter; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Kynlee Carter; four brothers: J.D. Carter and wife, Mary Lois, James Carter and wife, Judy, Linard Carter and wife, Bettie, Thomas Carter and wife, Linda; one sister, Retha Carlton and husband, Jimmy; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016, 2 p.m. at Centerpoint Church of God in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. There will be no graveside services held at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E Longview, Fayetteville, AR 72703. Pallbearers will be Jason Carter, Morgan Carlton, Justin Carter, Shawn Carlton, Carl Bartholomew, Kevin Carter and Lance Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Lee, Robert Brockman, and Ty Vinson.
