Mark Alan Montgomery

Mark Alan Montgomery went home to our Lord at 5:55 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He had been battling brain cancer since July 2014. Mark was born on Oct. 31, 1970 to Josaphat L. & Rose Ann (Woods) Montgomery in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. Mark is survived by his parents; two brothers, Joseph Patrick (Carrie) Montgomery of Columbus, Ohio and Michael David (Susan) Montgomery of New Albany, Ohio; a very special niece, Abigail Griffith; his beloved Chihuahua, Taco; Mark's partner in life, Michelle Hamlin and daughters, Kelsey and Alexis of Bentonville, Ark.;all held a very special place in his heart. He's also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mark attended Bishop Flaget High School but graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1989. He and his best friend, Shawn Gray, joined the U.S. Army as Combat Engineers in September 1989. He studied Computer Science at Columbus State Community College and Computer Science & Business at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio while working at WalMart in Grove City, Ohio. Mark enjoyed working at WalMart for almost 20 years, where he was a Senior Manager in Health and Wellness. During his time with WalMart, Mark developed life-long friendships that he treasured. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services, 2898 West Walnut, Rogers, AR 72756 for Mark's family/friends/co-workers. Arrangements are pending for a funeral service in Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
