Lois Jean Smith, 84, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on March 3, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born September 29, 1931 in Wyola, Arkansas, the daughter of Raymond Silas and Violet Ruth Ramey Hughes. She was a member of the Center Street Church of Christ. Lois lent her keen sense of design and creativity in the decorating of some of the areas most modest homes to some of the most elegant ones. She got so excited as she chose and fashioned window treatments from fabrics she searched tirelessly to find. She counted her clients and trades people as her dearest friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jesse Dale Smith, her parents and two brothers, Garland Weldon Hughes and James Claude "J.C." Hughes. Lois is survived by her two daughters, Sheroll Walker and husband Don of Fayetteville and Carol Bartholomew of Farmington; three grandchildren Wendy Cheryl Bartholomew, Barry Grant Bartholomew and wife Sarah, and Jessica Dawn Walker Nohl and husband Brent; four great-grandchildren, Easten, Chorde and Roe Bartholomew and Walker Nohl. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-3 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Monday March 7, 2016 - 2 p.m. at the Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville with Bobby Dockery and Ken Reeves officiating with burial in Brentwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gospel Tracts International 2129 N Center Street Suite E, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701. Pallbearers will be: Weldon Hughes, Danny Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Mark Scates, Rick Sanders, Stan Sumter, Dennis Moore and Brent Nohl Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
