Emma Birch Wright Thomas

EMMA BIRCH WRIGHT THOMAS died Nov. 18, 2015. She was born in McGehee, Ark. on April 21, 1921. Along with her parents and siblings she moved to Little Rock, where she attended and graduated from Little Rock High School. It was in Little Rock that she met and married Victor D. Wright Sr. with whom she raised her family. Following the death of her first husband she reconnected with John D. Thomas who had served as best man at her first wedding. She and John were later married for 15 years until his death. Predeceased included her husbands and only son, Victor D. Wright Jr. Emma is survived by daughters, Ruth Ann Toolate and Julie Pennington(Jamie); six grandchildren, Victor D. "Trey" Wright III (Tamara), Birch Wright (Rebecca), Tracey Embree, Victoria Williams (Chris), Brittany Pennington, and Colin Pennington. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren, Madison, Parker, Caroline and Savannah Wright; Arionna, Erica and Kirra Williams; Devin Shaw, Taylor Embree, and Rhyder Pennington. A graveside service will be Monday Nov. 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Reverend Richard Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd, Little Rock, Ark. 72207.
