James L. Smith

James L. (Jimmy) Smith passed to the arms of Jesus on November 11, 2015. He was born October 12, 1941 to Everett and Louise Smith (Etzkorn) in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and is survived by his wife, Claudia, and three sons; Nicky (wife Pepper) of Farmington, Joey (wife Paige) of Fayetteville, and Shannon (wife Jenny) Smith of Centerton, and five grandchildren; Jessica Smith, Alex Smith, Ian Smith, Brooke Smith and Destanee Bailey. Jim was a retiree from the Army National Guard, a member of the 142nd Field Artillary Brigade, in Fayetteville, and considered a Vietnam Era veteran. He was a supervisor at Bear Brand Hosiery for over 20 years, a manager of Godfathers' Pizza as well as Mazzio's, supervisor of the Abilities Unlimited workshop for many years and became a transit employee of the University of Arkansas before his retirement. Visitation will be held at the Nelson Berna Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. with funeral services at Trinity United Methodist Church, corner of Sycamore and Garland, Fayetteville, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 14. Interment will be scheduled at Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Fayetteville, at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 16. Under the direction of Nelson Berna Funeral Home.
