Cecil V. Woods, age 93, of Fayetteville, died at home on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 after a short illness. He was born near Bunyard on March 28, 1922 to Arthur and Mary Oma Ridenoure Woods. He was a cattle farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary E. Gilliland Woods, five sisters, Retha Hanna, Eva Keck, Vada Combs, Leona Coleman and Bessie Morris, and a brother, Emory Woods. He is survived by step-daughter, Frances (Tom) Bercher of Racine, Wisconsin; step-son, Chester (Janice) Hayes of West Fork and their descendants; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the six wonderful caregivers who have taken care of Cecil and all the staff at Washington Regional Hospice. You are family too. Visitation will be l0 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Moore's Chapel followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
