James Anthony Merrell

James Anthony Merrell, 60, of Bentonville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 20. He was born February 16, 1955 in Rogers to the late James Edward and Allie Willie Merrell. He proudly served in the Gulf War before retiring from the Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, camping and simply enjoyed being outdoors. For many years he was a trailer mechanic and attended Radiant Life Church in Bentonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his stepson. Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Betty Merrell; his two daughters, Christina (Anthony) Hart of Rogers and Kimberly Merrell; his two sons, Chester (Christy) Baker and Gene Baker of Bentonville and his grandson, Codie Blanks of Springdale. His Graveside Funeral service with full Military Honors will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 23 at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark.
