William A. (Bill) Watson, 84, of Springdale passed away Dec. 18, 2015 at his home. He was born Sept. 24, 1931 in Swain, Ark. the son of William F and Berslie Watson. Bill was married to Shirley Irene Lester Watson on Feb. 20, 1959. Bill was an avid and talented guitar player and enjoyed playing the fiddle and other instruments. He spent most of his life entertaining the military and public sector. He enjoyed entertaining at the Senior Citizen Center for many years. Bill served in the United States Marine Corp for 22 ½ years and retired in 1971 and returned to Arkansas to raise his family. He owned several businesses throughout the Springdale area. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Ruth King, Viola Garrison and Teddy Faught, three brothers, Paul Faught, Ottis Harris, and George Watson. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Irene Watson, four children from their union, Cheryl Watson of Huntsville, David Watson of Springdale, Shelly Ingram of Springdale and Brian Watson and wife Schnell of Lowell and one daughter from a previous marriage, Cindy Anderson. Two brothers, Jimmy Watson of Springdale and Ray Watson of Marysville, Wash. Eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23 at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Rev Bill Williams and Bro Bobby Main officiating.
