Rev. J.D. Tackett, 80, of Fayetteville, left this life for his eternal home on Dec. 16, 2015 in Fayetteville. He was born Nov. 28, 1935 in Fayetteville to Ollie and Etta (Bogan) Tackett. Rev. Tackett was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Otha Tackett, Carl Tackett, Donald Tackett, and Bill Tackett. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Margie Tackett; his sisters, Lois Corbitt and her husband Raymond and Linda Price Hinkle and her husband Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Tackett was called into ministry at age 16 and attended Bible School in Oklahoma. He was a licensed Assemblies of God minister and traveled many years as an evangelist. He passionately shared his faith with others whether in a coffee shop or church. J.D. was an auctioneer, car salesman, realtor and worked for Vaughn Battery for 40 years. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at First Assembly of God in Springdale, Interment will follow at Combs Chapel Cemetery. Please share your fond thoughts and memories of Rev.
