Tena Mae Conley

Tena Mae Conley, 91, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away in Little Rock, Ark., on December 13, 2015. She is survived by her children, Susan and Nancy Conley, of Little Rock and North Little Rock, respectively, Mike and Ronna Conley, of Dallas, Texas, sisters Melba Garrett and Margie Shelley of Prairie Grove, Maxine Allen of Springdale, and brother and sister-in-law Ray and Pat Garrett of Little Rock. Tena's favorite color was Razorback red and her passion was supporting the hopes and aspirations of her children, which she did with her whole heart. Tena was much loved by her Overland Park "bridge girls," with whom she played for more than 40 years. Tena grew up in Prairie Grove, Ark., and worked as a telephone operator in Fayetteville before marrying Courtie Conley in 1950. She lived most of her life in Overland Park, where she was an award winning retail sales person and a preferred prosthesis consultant of the American Cancer Society to women who, like herself, were survivors of breast cancer. Tena was a loving and involved mother whose best memories were of making pizza in the family kitchen for her kids and their many friends who loved being in the company of Mr. and Mrs. C. Tena will be buried at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Ark., in a family graveside service on Wednesday, December 16 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arkansas chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, www.alzark.org.
