Charles "Chuck" Edward Billman, 78, of Bella Vista, Ark. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 13, 1936 to Charles and Emily Billman. Chuck served as pilot in the U.S. Airforce for 27 years. His duty included several thousand hours of combat mission time during the conflict in Southeast Asia. Chuck's sense of discipline and dedication continued beyond his military career. He earned a reputation as a man that could be counted on. Chuck's selfless responsibility was a hallmark of who he was. Known by all as a dedicated family man and servant to the community, he will be greatly missed by everyone that came to know him. Chuck was a kind soul who was very fond of animals and children. He was quick to make friends and his generous disposition resulted in his popular reputation. Chuck was a loving and caring husband to his wife of 39 years Margaret and accepted and cared for Margaret's children from a previous marriage as his own. Chuck's involvement in the Bella Vista community included membership and presidency in the computer club as well as a role as instructor at the community college. Preceded in death by his Father Charles L. Billman, Mother Emily Billman (Gahr) and Stepfather, Adolph Gahr. He is survived by his lovely wife of 39 years, Margaret; his son, Alan Billman (wife Leslie) of Memphis, Tenn.; stepchildren, Rick Simcoe and David Simcoe of Dallas, Texas, Ruthanne Mantini (Dana) of Omaha, Neb; and two granddaughters, Anna and Maggie, puppy Sweetpea and kitty Rusty. A Memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, December 17th at 11 a.m. The Burial will be at the Fayetteville V.A. National Cemetery at 2 p.m, Thursday December 17th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, Ark. 72714.
