Iris Sharon McCurdy, 76, of Pea Ridge died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice at Legacy Village in Bentonville. She was born April 24, 1938, at Cullman, Ala., to James Buell Sticher and Leona O'Dell Keller Sticher. She retired after 29 years as a secretary at Landmark Elementary School in Little Rock. While living in the Little Rock area, she was an Avon representative for 29 years. She was a member of East End Baptist Church in Little Rock where she taught vacation Bible school for many years. In May 2012, she moved to Pea Ridge to make her home. She was a member of Twelve Corners Baptist Church and was a devoted prayer warrior. She loved to serve and be surrounded by her family and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her husband, Earl McCurdy of the home; two sons, Jon McCurdy and wife, Andrea, of Springdale, and Chuck McCurdy and wife, Kimberly, of Rogers; one sister, Billie Pete Foster and husband, Wade, of Chelsea, Ala.; five grandchildren, Alex Fittin, Cameron McCurdy, Sierra McCurdy, Peyton McCurdy and Kenna McCurdy. Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Twelve Corners Baptist Church, with Pastor Rick Booyer officiating.
