Melva June Ward Hency Harris

Melva June Ward Hency Harris, age 83, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born June 30, 1930, in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of Lawrence S. and Alta Ward and Otaline Goade and Grant Pratsman. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Harris, and her sister, Evelyn Curry. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Elkins. She is survived by four children, Nelson Verl Hency Jr. and his wife Diana Jo of Farmington, Ark., Gayle Otaline Teague of Fayetteville, Ark., David Sherman Hency and his wife Marcy of Grove, Oklahoma, and Elayne I. James of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Imogene Hyatt of Fresno, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, Gayla, Travis, Alexis, Tracie, Amber, Amanda, Verl III, Tara, Eden, Nicholas, Kyle and Corey; and 21 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday June 23, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home.
