Kenneth Lee Proud

Kenneth Lee Proud, 69, entered his eternal rest on June 14, 2014, at his home in Springdale. He was born Feb. 18, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edgar and Anna Baylon Proud. Kenneth married Sharon Kay Madewell on Jan. 17, 1970, in Huntsville, Ark. Kenneth proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Shiloh Steel before retiring. He served his community as a Meals on Wheels volunteer. Kenneth was an active member of Faith Full Gospel Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, PaPa and brother. He loved God, his country and his family. Kenneth is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Jessica Hopkins and her husband Frank of Chelsea, Okla.; his son, Joshua Proud and his wife Lori of Springdale; one brother, Johnny Proud and his wife Glenda; four sisters, Carolyn Antone, Margaret Marrow, Mary Lou Stall and her husband Paul, and Karen McCormick; four granddaughters, Louanna, Alanna, Deanna, and Avery; two great grandsons, Preston and Kyler; and a host of other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Westfield Chapel. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Springdale Meals on Wheels.
