John H. 'Jack' Carpentier

John H. "Jack" Carpentier passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in Springdale, Ark., where he and his wife have resided since 1999. He was born in Webster Groves, Mo., on Nov. 23, 1926. He graduated from Webster Groves High School and Washington University in St. Louis. He served in the U.S Army during WWII. In 1950, he married Dorothy Ann "Dot" Hudler in Fraser, Colo. He worked at Norland Associates and Norland Instruments in Fort Atkinson and Janesville, Wis., from the mid-1960s through the late-1980s. He was a licensed professional engineer, an inventor and he held several patents. He was actively involved in the Fort Atkinson Community Theatre where he enjoyed all aspects of the art form, from acting and set building, to lighting and sound. He is survived by his wife and their four children, Terri Stradinger, Kathy Carpentier-Moore, Liz Scherkenbach and Peter Carpentier; their spouses; and seven grandchildren. The family plans to hold a private celebration of life when grandson, Ned Stradinger, returns from deployment in Afghanistan.
