Esther Ruth Underhill

Esther Ruth Underhill, age 97, of Winslow went home to be with her Lord on June 10, 2014. She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Edward and Bell Hoffman Hart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Underhill in 2003 after 69 years of marriage; and three brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Winslow. She is survived by two sons, Burl Underhill of Rogers, Ark., and Earl Underhill and his wife, Rose, of Winslow, Ark.; a brother, Dale Hart of Webb City, Mo.; two sisters, Donna Jones of Joplin, Mo., and Dorothy Long of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Frisbie officiating.
