Donald Ray Stewart, 73, Cypress, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2014, with his wife and three daughters by his side. Don was born in Clovis, N.M. to Herman L. and Leah (Clark) Stewart. Don grew up in Fayetteville, graduating from Fayetteville High, and was a member of Wiggins Memorial Methodist Church where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Vaughn, on March 22, 1959. Don served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1967. After his honorable discharge, Don attended the University of Arkansas receiving his Accounting Degree in 1971. He was hired by Cities Service upon graduation and moved to Tulsa, Okla. where he and his family lived for 17 years. Don was transferred to Citgo Refinery in Lake Charles, La. where he and Barbara resided for the last 25 years. He and Barbara moved to Houston, Texas to be near their daughters. Don enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandsons and his beloved Razorbacks. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Melissa Anne Fitzmorris. Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; daughters Mari (Fritz) Wiest, Teresa (Norman) Power, and Carol (Brian) Steele; grandchildren, Stewart, Erik, Riley, Chris and Nicholas; sisters, Martha (Joe, dec.) Leming and Pearl (Charles) Couch. Don was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cherished friend. He will be missed.
