David Polk

David Polk was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Jackson, Miss., to Charles and Louise Polk. After high school, he served in the Mississippi Air National Guard for six years. David's 45-year employment career was in food service beginning with the Kroger Company. He later became president and CEO of M&M Food Stores. In Northwest Arkansas, he became senior vice-president of sales and marketing for the Phillips Company. At Walmart, David served as vice-president of international food merchandising and vice-president of pricing strategy where he traveled extensively to 32 countries until his retirement in 2006. David loved cooking, fishing, boating, photography and four-wheeling. His family: wife, Bev; son, Colin; daughter, Jennifer; brothers, Fred and Mark; sister, Margaret; grandchildren, Alex and Katie; in-laws, Debbie and Joe will always cherish his memory. David trusted the Lord throughout his courageous battle with cancer and is now in the loving arms of Jesus. Services will be held at the Bella Vista Village Bible Evangelical Free Church (210 Town Center) Tuesday, June 10, with visitation at 3:30 p.m. and memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Donations to Hospice Circle of Life or American Cancer Society are appreciated.
