Giuseppe (Joseph) Capilli, 86, of Elkins, also known as "Yankee" to many V.A. friends, went to be with his Lord on May 26, 2014. He was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Providence, R.I., to Giovanni Capilli and Maddalena (Cinelli) Capilli. Giuseppe was a World War II Navy veteran, having served on the USS Columbia from 1945 to 1947. He learned to cut hair in the Navy, and barbering became his profession for over 50 years in Southern and Northern California. Giuseppe was married to Anna Rose Bruno in Providence, R.I., on May 21, 1949. They later moved to California in 1958 and were married for 46 years. He moved to Arkansas in 1998 with his daughter and son-in-law after the death of his wife, Anna, in April 1995. He was an avid collector of such things as sports cards, comic books, coins, etc. He loved to garden and do outdoor work, always a hard worker. He loved staying in shape and lifted weights for many years. He earned the nickname "Mr. Clean" in his later years. He volunteered at the V.A. Hospital for years, and loved helping others and enjoyed "giving back" for the care he was given. Giuseppe was a devoted, loving husband and father. He leaves behind a son, Joseph Capilli of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Madeline Capilli Price and husband, Bill, of Elkins, Ark.; four grandchildren, B.R. Price and wife, Jenny, Kimberly, Bryan and Hailey Capilli; two stepgrandchildren, Chris Price and wife, Patricia, and Matt Price; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Zack Davis and Christy Price; brother, Gaetano Capilli of Granada Hills, Calif.
