Frances "Granny" Patten, 93, a resident of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away May 30, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born March 29, 1921, in Hulbert, Okla., the daughter of Wayman Francis and Mary Pearl Stephens Dearing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Patten; three brothers, George, Steve and Bill Dearing and two sisters, Dean Mason and Hester Carnahan. Survivors include two children, Leon Patten and wife Dorothy of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Susie Samples and husband Lanny of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Betty Yancey of Prairie Grove; six grandchildren, Jarred Samples, Ashley Bradley, Stephanie Morgan, Stacy Fuller, Brad Patten, and Ray Patten and 18 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-3 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 2, 2014, 10 a.m. at Viney Grove Methodist Church in Viney Grove, Ark. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tyler Thomas, Richard Nickell, Richard Ulrich, Kevin Carroll, Shelby Gardner and A.J. Bartholomew. The family would like to express their gratitude to Granny's caregivers, Freda Wilson, Freda Easterling, Melba Collins, Glenda Test and the staff of North Hills Life Care.
