Homer Dale Lawless

Homer Dale Lawless, age 82, passed away Sept. 24, 2013, in Springdale, Ark. Dale was born Nov. 3, 1930, to Homer E. and Olga Tritsch Lawless in Thurman, Iowa. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Walters; and great-grandson, Jordan Lawless. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgina; daughter, Daleina "Dee" Hoffman of Springdale; two sons, Dale Lawless and wife, Beate, of Lowell, Ark., Richard Lawless and wife, Heike, of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Trent Hoffman, Steven Lawless, Hiedi Hoffman, Matthew Hoffman, Julena Lawless, Maximellion "Max" Lawless; and five great-grandchildren. Homer Dale grew up on farms in southwest Iowa. At the age of 16, he joined the Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was then stationed in Germany twice, as well as various military bases in the United States before serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Army and worked with his father in the brick and concrete industry before moving to Springdale, where retired from a poultry pharmaceutical company. Dale was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Springdale. A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the First Presbyterian Church of Springdale. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to church at 100 S. Gutensohn, Springdale, AR 72762; or to the charity of your choice.
