Virginia Marie Hannah

Virginia Marie (Stine) Hannah, born December 25, 1925 in Ozark, Christian County, Missouri, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at White County Hospital, Searcy, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Mahlon Otto Stine and Ethel Rose Comstock Stine. Virginia, her sister Mary Frances Stine (Jones), and brother Stephen Stine grew up in Ozark, Missouri. Virginia was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was mother to Jim (Pat) Hannah, Searcy, Arkansas; Sara Beth (Early) Bowen, Cypress, Texas; and her brother, Stephen Stine. She loved children and especially the children in her family. She was grandmother to Jamie Parr (Cabot), Craig Hannah and his wife Mitzi (Searcy), Todd Hannah and his wife Wendy (Bentonville), and Danielle (Port Townsend, Washington), and Marcus (Daegu, South Korea) Bowen. Mark and Julie Pate, and Kelli and Mike McNeill of Searcy are step-grandchildren. Great-grandchildren are Derek Covington (Jessica), Tyler and Mason Parr; and Gabby, Adrian, Ethan, Jackson, and Gracen Hannah. Step-great-grandchildren are Jacob Corpier, Ian McNeill, and Emily, Sam, and Will Pate. She has one great-great-grandson, Bryson Covington. She has one sister, Mary Frances Jones of Ozark, Missouri, a deceased brother, Stephen Stine, whom she raised, and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hannah of Nixa, Missouri. She has two nieces, Linda Kay Rice, Springfield, Missouri, and Margaret Moore, Nixa, Missouri, and a nephew, Paul Hannah of Nixa, Missouri. Virginia and Frank met in elementary school when Frank's family moved back to Ozark, Missouri during the depression. They were in the Ozark High School graduating class of 1943. They were married when Frank was home on leave after completing Navy basic training on June 8, 1943. Neither one asked the other to marry them, they just went to Virginia's Presbyterian minister in Springfield, Missouri with Frank's brother and his wife, Bonnie and got married. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past June. During World War II they lived in San Diego, California and Miami, Florida. Frank worked at the Ford plant in the Los Angeles area after the war. They moved back to Ozark, Missouri where they established and ran a dry-cleaning business. They moved to Harrison, Arkansas January 1960 after acquiring a bottling company with Virginia's sister, Mary Frances and her husband, Walter Jones. Frank and Virginia continued to run the bottling plant after purchasing the Jones' interest. After selling the bottling plant, Virginia went to work for the Harrison Junior High School, where she worked until retiring. Virginia and Frank were true partners in all respects. Virginia was a member of the Eastern Star and a life long Presbyterian, a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Harrison, Arkansas where she served in different capacities. Visitation is Saturday, September 15, at 12 noon at the 1st Presbyterian church in Harrison, Arkansas, services at 1 p.m., followed by grave side services at 3:30 p.m. at Selmore Cemetery, Selmore, Missouri.
