Richard Harris Meads

Richard Harris Meads, 59, of Springdale died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 26, 1953, in Oak Harbor, Wash., the son of Stephen Meads and Theresa Tooley Meads. He married the former Katie Gehlbach on Jan. 16, 1982, in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and was self-employed as a certified public account. He was a member of the Springdale Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of Old Wire Road Church of Christ; and was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Katie Meads of the home; two daughters, Allison Meads of Fayetteville, Jennifer Meads of Springdale; two sisters, Denise Emerson of Ocala, Fla., Stephanie Jones of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother, Dan Meads of Pottsboro, Texas; and 15 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. till service time on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013. Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
