Bertha Mae Phillips, 86, passed away Oct. 23, 2013, in Rogers. She was born on Feb. 14, 1927, in Paris, Ark., to Dean and Ola (Gunderman) Hamilton. She was the wife of late Doyle Phillips, whom she married in Paris, Texas, on Dec. 4, 1943. Bertha Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers, and taught in the primary department and nursery for many years. She is survived by her son, Jim Phillips and wife, Connie, of Aurora, Mo.; daughters, Carolyn Townzen of Bentonville, and Doylene Beaver and husband, Gary, of League City, Texas; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and her precious dog, Cricket. She is preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, A.F. Saulsberry; husband; son, Wesley; two brothers, John Hamilton and Floyd Saulsberry; and three sisters, Geradine Hamilton, Rebecca West, Onita Gale Saulsberry. A graveside service will be on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Benton County Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home.
