William Otis Thomas

William Otis Thomas, 66, of Lowell, Ark., passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at his home. William was born May 4, 1947, in Stilwell, Okla.; he was the son of James Otis and Reba Marie Thomas. William married Maria Estela Chacon on June 15, 1985, in Siloam Springs, Ark. Mr. Thomas was a retired GS-7 inspector from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include wife, Maria Estella Thomas of the home; children, Tonya Howerton and husband, Steve, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Melissa Deann Harrison of Colcord, Okla., Vanessa Kimberly Ragland and husband, Craig Alan, of Springdale, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; mother, Reba Marie Thomas of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two brothers, James "Jim" Thomas and wife, Judy, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Roy Thomas and wife, Judy, of Watts, Okla.; sister, Jeannie Carnes and husband, Randall, of Siloam Springs, Ark. William is also survived by numerous family, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, James Otis; a brother, Joe Thomas; and an infant sister. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. The service will be held at the Backstrom–Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Terrell Cemetery, near Stilwell, Okla., under the direction of Backstrom–Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
