Ruby Pruitt Roberts Hight, 91, of Hiwasse, Ark., died Oct. 14, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village, Bentonville, Ark. She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Swain, Ark., to James Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Cooksey Pruitt. She was the 10th child born to this union. She was raised north of Hiwasse, and attended school in Hiwasse. She later married Austin Lloyd Roberts and they had one son Roy Eugene (Gene) Roberts. Austin was killed in action in the Battle of the Bulge on Dec. 24, 1944. After the war, she married Melvin Howard Hight. They lived in Rogers, Ark., and later moved to Hiwasse. They had three children. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Hiwasse Church of Christ. She was an active member of the P.T.A. in Hiwasse. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She served on the election board for a number of years in Hiwasse. Survivors include three sons, Gene Roberts of Centerton, Ark., John and Jacki Hight of Granby, Mo., Don and Debi Hight of Bella Vista, Ark.; one daughter Linda Fisher Indiahoma, Okla.; grandchildren, Tom E. Fisher, Adam and Missi Hight, Sean and Amy Hight, Sarah Elizabeth Hight, Shelly Mahoney; great-grandchildren, Brad Fisher, Cody Fisher, Darbi Lee Hight, Torin Hight, Quinn Hight, Emma Rose Mahoney and Meghan Mahoney. Also a number of nieces and nephews, her church family and a host of friends who loved her dearly. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, with funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Hiwasse Church of Christ with Mr. Jack Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice of Bentonville. Arrangements by Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers.
