Ruby Pearl Hight, 91, of Hiwasse passed away Oct. 14, 2013, in Bentonville. She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Swain, Ark., the daughter of James Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Cooksey Pruitt. She was a homemaker and lifelong member and Sunday school teacher at the Hiwasse Church of Christ. Ruby also was a substitute Postmaster at the Hiwasse Post Office, worked on the election board, a member of the Eastern Star and the PTA. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening and going to flea markets. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Howard Hight; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Gene Roberts of Centerton, Linda Kay Fisher of Indiahoma, Okla., John Hight of Granby, Mo., and Donny Hight of Bella Vista; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, with funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Hiwasse Church of Christ, with Mr. Jack Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice of Bentonville. Arrangements by Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers.
