Robert Blaine Bryant Jr.

Robert Blaine Bryant Jr., better known as Bob, died Oct. 2, 2013, in the home that he loved in Winslow, Ark. He was born July 23, 1918, to Robert Blaine Sr. and Clara Mae Kistler in Champaign, Ill. He was the oldest of three boys. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois in accounting and also held a master's degree from San Jose State University in industrial management. He married Isabelle Mikol in Chicago, Ill., in May of 1942 and she preceded him in death in 2004. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a radar instructor. He started his own tax business in Miami, Fla., but left that to join Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in 1953 in Southern California. In 1958, he joined Lockheed's Missile and Space Division in Northern California. He stayed with Lockheed for 25 years. He loved sports (especially his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks), nutrition, exercise, reading and the Republican Party. He leaves one daughter, Bonny Hannigan and son-in-law, Michael Hannigan; three grandchildren, Carrie Kaiser, Michael Hannigan III, James Hannigan; and daughter-in-law, Carrie Hannigan; and five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaiser, Michael Brent Kaiser, Nathaniel Bryant Kaiser, Maggie Hannigan and James Hannigan II. He also leaves his Arkansas family, Matt and Vickey Halley and their six children, Emma Bowen and son-in-law, John Bowen, Mathis, Audrey, Abby, Ben and Jack, and their grandchildren, William, Elliot, Charlie and Aaron. He will be missed by all. There will be a celebration of Bob's life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the residence of Matt and Vickey Halley.
