Harold Morris Cothran, 69, of Pea Ridge died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born March 15, 1944, in Forrest City, Ark., to Guy Cothran Jr. and Imogene Cooper Cothran. He lived practically his whole life in Pea Ridge and graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1962. He formerly worked at SBC, now AT&T in Rogers, as a lineman and cable splicer. Harold enjoyed visiting with his friends at the "coffee shop." He was an avid hunter of turkey, and an archery hunter of deer and Colorado elk. He was a craftsman, building Hawkin-style black powder rifles and restoring Model-A Ford cars. He built his home and was also involved in building the new First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. He participated in mission trips to Cody, Wyo., Vinton, La., Anadarko, Okla., Imperial, Mo., Kansas City, Mo., and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers. He loved the Lord and serving Him. He loved his grandchildren and looked forward to his time with them. Morris is preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Lasater of Pea Ridge. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Taylor Cothran of the home; his mother, Imogene Lasater of O'Fallon, Ill.; a son, Brandon Cothran and wife, Yong, of Bentonville; a brother, Mark Lasater and wife, Cindy, of Magnolia, Ark..; a sister, Brenda Futrell and husband, Dena, of O'Fallon, Ill.; three grandchildren, Hayden Cothran, Cooper Cothran and Erica Reaser; an uncle, Keith Cooper of Fayetteville; two nephews, Aaron and Sam; nieces, Abbie, Ashley and Heather. Service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, with the Rev. Tom Hatley and the Rev. George Wisley officiating. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 20/20 conference project which trains pastors in Northern India, c/o Immanuel Baptist Church, 2555 S. 26th St., Rogers, AR 72758. No visitation.
