William Thomas McCarley Sr.

William "Bill" Thomas McCarley Sr. died Oct. 7, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born on Oct. 6, 1930, in Hollis, Okla., to the late Charles R. and Okie Mae (Nicholson) McCarley. He was the husband of Euleta (Urich) Carter McCarley. Bill was a member of the Christian Life Center in Centerton. He was a member of the Rogers VFW Post 3031 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bill enjoyed and had a real talent for gardening. He was a devoted Christian, who enjoyed studying the Bible. He taught Sunday school at the Pentecostals of Northwest Arkansas, where he was a member for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of Rogers; son, William "Tom" McCarley Jr. and wife, Kay, of Ft. Smith; daughter, Linda C. Brown and husband, Carl, of Rogers; stepsons, Jim Perry and wife, Doris, of Gentry, and Bob Perry and wife, Donna, of Decatur; Gary Carter and wife, Pam, of Rogers, and Jon Carter and wife, Becky, of Bentonville; stepdaughters, June Johnson and husband, Mark, of Missouri, Debra Deathrage and husband, Jerry, of Bella Vista, and Renee Carter Howard of Rogers; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol Ann (Smith) McCarley; brother, Charles N. McCarley; sister, Hazel White; and second wife, Sarah I. (Perry) McCarley. His funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Pentecostals of Northwest Arkansas, 2200 S. 13th St., Rogers, Ark., with burial to follow at Tucks Chapel Cemetery.
