Mr. Robert Bruce "Bob" Jacobs, 58, of Washburn, Mo., formerly of Bentonville, Ark., departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at his residence after a recent illness. Bob entered this life on April 4, 1955, in Bentonville, Ark., to the union of the late Reyburn and Doris (Williams) Jacobs. He was raised in Bentonville and was a 1973 graduate of Bentonville High School. Bob was a talented artist through his life. He worked in the family business, Jacobs Sign Company, as well as in the Walmart sign shop. He later worked for Benton County and was the one responsible for making all the county road signs. He retired in 2008 and moved to Washburn, Mo. Bob is survived by one son, Jeffrey Robert Jacobs and wife, Rosie, of Kihei, Hawaii; a daughter, Amanda Nicole Baird and fiance, Robert Smith, of Panama City, Fla.; three grandchildren, Dylan Baird, Macie Smith and Nathaniel Jacobs; a sister, Joanna Jacobs of Bentonville, Ark.; three brothers, Michael Jacobs of Barling, Ark., Carl Jacobs of Washburn, Mo., and Samuel Jacobs of Centerton, Ark.; two nieces and one nephew; as well as a host of other family. Graveside services for Mr. Jacobs are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark., with Jerry Abram officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Samuel Jacobs, Carl Jacobs, Matthew Jacobs, Robert Smith, Jeremy Rice and David Barnett. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes, 100 Spring St. at the corner of Main & Spring.
