Raymond S. Pennock, 80, of Rogers passed away Sept. 29, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Lake City, Kan., the son of Melvin Henry and Alma Blanche Snapp Pennock. He owned and operated Snapp Services. Raymond was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ; he also was a DAV and received the Purple Heart; he enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, writing and playing Santa. He served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Lois Pennock; one son, Daniel Pennock; one sister, Perdita Rohr; and one brother, John T. Pennock. Survived by his children, Michele Riggsbee and husband, Scott, of Sanford, N.C., Kristy Collins and husband, David, of Gateway, and Gary Wheeler and wife, Debbie, of Seligman; one brother, Paul Pennock of Wellington, Kan.; three sisters, Sallie Shore and husband, Gail, of Wellington, Kan., Nedra Porter and husband, Jack, of Ottawa, Kan., and Carol Brown and husband, Jay Dee, of Wellington, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Kristina Walker, Tonya Rogers, Jessica Mashburn, Christie Larson, Tara Harper, Jennifer Orellana and Gary Wheeler; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bella Vista Church of Christ. Interment in the Pea Ridge Cemetery with full military honors by the Rogers American Legion Post 100. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Church of Christ, c/o the funeral home.
