Jim Graham
Jim Graham, age 87, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Elkins, Ark., to LeRoy and Alice Sterling Graham.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Alabama during World War II, and retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 39 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish; he was an avid sports fan and coached Little League baseball for many years. After retiring to Arkansas, he served many years on the West Fork City Council and was a regular performer at the Little Opry in West Fork.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola M. Graham; one son, Tim Graham; sister, Marie Schneider; and three brothers, Omer Graham, Donald Graham and Dale Graham.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry; three daughters, Pat Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla., Bobbi Hommel of Arlington, Texas, Sharon Ashley of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Jim Graham of Harrah, Okla.; one sister, Erma Duncan of Corona, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Angela Douglas, Colette Arnold, Robert Hommel Jr., Dan Hommel, Steve Hommel, Joe Scheib, Jeff Scheib, Jason Scheib, Jen Brayden, Jackie Blackmon, Matt Graham, Josh Graham and Nathalie Chenault; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Moore's Chapel.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel, with burial to follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
