John Joseph Beckmann

John Joseph Beckmann, 87 of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Garden View Care Center of O'Fallon, Mo. He was born March 17, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John Henry Beckmann and Mary Lyons Beckmann. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville and the Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Beckmann of the home; four sons, John Beckmann Jr. of Florida, Eric Beckmann and wife Cathy of Georgia, Keith Beckmann and wife Joneva of Missouri and Robert Beckmann and wife Amy of Florida; daughter, Ellen Burdjak and husband Dennis of New York; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several other family members and friends. A rosary service will be at 2 p.m. at Beard's Funeral Chapel Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at noon today, Nov. 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville.
