Charles Martin of Rogers, Ark., passed away Nov. 5, 2013, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 11 days. Charles was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Sallisaw, Okla., to Roy Martin and Oakley Wells Martin. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Gentry, Ark. He married his beloved wife of 42 years, Clide Maxine Chenoweth Martin, on July 12, 1965, in Bentonville, Ark. He leaves behind to cherish his memory one stepson, Beecher Owens Jr. and wife, Janet, of Little Flock, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Judy Wright and husband, Albert, of Ponca City, Okla., and Pixie Owens Huntley and husband, Doug, of Danville, Kan.; two half-brothers, Leroy Martin of Avoca, Ark., Jimmy Martin of Centerton, Ark.; five half-sisters, LaVonne Poindexter of Siloam Springs, Ark., Darlene Kaufelt of Watts, Okla., Laveta McCalister of Rogers, Ark., Georgie McGarrah of Springdale, Ark., and Josie Mounce of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one sister, Ruby Dean Martin; three half-brothers, Manuel Reece of Pleasanton, Kan., Orvil Allen of California and James Martin of Gentry, Ark.; and one half-sister, Mary Drain of West Fork, Ark. Charles enjoyed repairing motors, gardening, fishing, deer hunting and watching NASCAR races. He worked as a mechanic for Blevins Motor Company and sales for 20 years before his retirement. You were the best step-daddy we could have had…we love you and miss you so much already. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark. Burial will follow at Benton County Memorial Park, Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
