George Elmer Clark

George Elmer Clark, 86, of Gentry, Ark., died May 21, 2013, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born June 1, 1926, in La Junta, Colo., he was the son of Leslie George Clark and Sarah Clark. He was raised in the Berryville, Ark., area and was a dairy farmer. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II and moved to the Gentry area in the 1970s. He was a member of the Dairy Association and was of the Christian faith. On July 31, 1981, he married Betty J. Vermillion True in Miami, Okla. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar Clark, Clifford Clark and Roy Clark; and one sister, Ruth Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; three sons, Donnie G. Clark of Siloam Springs, Ark., Jimmy R. Clark of Gentry, Ark., and Roy E. Clark of Eureka Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Robin Clark and Tammy Clark, both of Eureka Springs, Ark.; five stepdaughters, Janice Smith, Marion Pollard, Darleen Evans, Debbie Taylor and Carla Beeman, all of Gentry; and one stepson, Richard True of Bentonville, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Mr. Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, Ark.
