Jerry W. Harvey

Jerry W. Harvey, 56, of Springdale, Ark., died Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was born June 18, 1956, at Huntsville, Ark., a whopping 4 1/2 pound, 17 1/2 inch son of Ervin and Nola Smith Harvey. Jerry graduated from Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kan., in 1975. He joined the Army National Guard from 1976 to 1993. He served in Germany in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm. He was an employee of George's Poultry Company and was a former truck driving instructor for Northwest Technical Institute, a journeyman electrician and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Marvin Harvey. Survivors include: his wife, Sandra Harvey of the home; one daughter, Melissa Barron and husband, Mike; two stepsons, Joseph Griffis and Sophie and James Cutshall and Kristen; one stepdaughter, Laura Michael and husband Chris; his mother, Nola Harvey of Springdale, Arkansas; three brothers, Chester Harvey and wife, Kay of Eolia, Missouri, Lester Harvey and wife, Nida and Gary Harvey and wife Kathy, all of Huntsville, Arkansas; two sisters, Sharon Harvey of Huntsville, Arkansas and Linda Holloway and husband, Bob of Springdale, Arkansas and grandchildren, Zoe, Evan, Gavin, Chelsie, Julie, Nick and Brooke. Memorials services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the Pilgrim's Rest Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Lowell Bradley officiating. Private interment was in the Captain Smith Cemetery near Witter, Ark., by Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneral home.net of Huntsville, Ark.
