Clarence Applewhite

Clarence Applewhite, age 80, of Bentonville, and formerly of Cabot, Ark., passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Veterans Medical Center of the Ozarks in Fayetteville. Clarence was born in Dyersburg, Tenn., on Oct. 31, 1932, to Clarence Sr. and Henrietta (Robinson) Applewhite. He served his country in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Clarence was a member of the All Saints' Episcopal Church in Bentonville. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Clarence is survived by his wife, Margaret (DeMarco) Applewhite of the home; two sons, Steve Applewhite and wife, Marilyn, of New Hampshire, Brent Applewhite and wife, Cindy, of Florida; two stepsons, Chris DeMarco and wife, Charlotte, of Georgia, Bryan Thetford and wife, Juliann, of Michigan; one daughter, Lesa Gann and husband, Paul, of Little Rock; two stepdaughters, Debby Nye and Catherine Lyon, both of Bentonville; one brother, James Applewhite and wife, Marilyn, of Austin, Ark.; one granddaughter; and many friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at the All Saints' Episcopal Church, 406 W. Central Ave., in Bentonville. There will be a reception following funeral services from 11 a.m. to noon at the All Saints' Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 Government Ave., in Fayetteville, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the All Saints' Episcopal Church Building Fund in honor of Clarence Applewhite.
